One arrested with gold bar and 19 cartons of cigarettes at Shah Amanat Airport
The National Intelligence Security Agency (NSI) and airport authorities seized two gold bars and 19 cartons of foreign cigarettes from a passenger returning to Dubai at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport.
The passenger, identified as Mohammad Sayem Chowdhury, arrived in Chittagong on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG 148 flight) flight from Dubai on Saturday morning.
Detained Sayem is a resident of Hathazari area of Chittagong.
According to Shah Amanat Airport authorities, the airport NSI team became suspicious before whwn he crossing gate number 3 of the terminal.
Then he was challenged.
During interrogation, two gold bars and 19 cartons of foreign cigarettes were recovered from him.
The passenger was later handed over to the airport police, airport authorities said.
