Staff Correspondent : 550 cartons of foreign cigarettes were seized from three passengers from Dubai at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport. The market price of a carton of cigarettes is around Tk 11 lakh as Tk 2,000.
The National Security Intelligence (NSI) team at Shah Amanat International Airport intercepted the consignments on a tip-off.
According to NSI sources, members of the National Security Intelligence (NSI) seized the cigarettes after challenging three passengers from Dubai on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-148 on Tuesday.
The seized cigarettes have been handed over to the airport customs. This is the largest consignment of cigarettes at Shah Amanat International Airport after the lock down.
