12-day Indian ‘Eid Visa Camp’ starts today

download (1)In a rare initiative, the High Commission of India will begin a 12-day “Eid Visa Camp” from today to facilitate visits of Bangladeshi nationals before the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

“The Indian high commission is organizing the visa camp from June 4-16, 2016 for the first time as a special measure for Bangladeshi nationals who wish to travel to India during the upcoming Eid holidays,” said a press release of the High Commission of India.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan will formally inaugurate the camp at 8:00am at the high commission’s New Chancery Complex, in the capital’s Baridhara.

Visa applicants can submit their applications on a walk-in basis from 8:00am to 2:00pm (except Friday June 10), it said.

The camp is being organised to accept only tourist visa applications from Bangladeshi nationals who do not have an appointment date/e-Token, added the release.
