Every year, three Emirati nursing students from the Fatima College of Health Sciences at The Institute of Applied Technology (IAT) will be able to train at the Etihad Airways Medical Centre.
In a statement sent on Monday, Etihad, one of the UAE’s flag-carrier airlines, said it had signed a partnership with the college to support the continued development of Emirati nursing students. The agreement complements Etihad’s strategy to employ more Emirati women health-care professionals.
The selected nursing students will have a chance to specialise in aviation and occupational nursing. They will be chosen based on their academic performance, and will receive a monthly stipend from the airline. After graduation, they will also be offered full-time positions at Etihad.
The airline’s medical centre serves its 23,000 Abu Dhabi-based employees, providing a full range of medical care.
