Customs at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) have detained a passenger attempting to smuggle two kilos of gold bars into the country, reports bdnews24.com.
Comilla resident Mohammad Mannan had travelled to Dhaka from Dubai via Oman on a Bangladesh Biman flight which arrived around 11am on Thursday, said Customs Intelligence Division Director General Moinul Khan.
Mannan had passed through immigration and picked up his luggage. He was stopped by customs officials for a search. During the search, five aluminium foil packages containing the gold bars were found secured to the underside of the trolley with magnets.
