American Airlines launches direct frlight to NYC’s LaGuardia airport

Even more travel options now being offered at Knoxville’s Mcghee-Tyson Airport.

American Airlines officially launching a direct flight from Knoxville to New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
Celebrations were held yesterday before the first departure.

American Airlines said it decided to introduce this new route to Mcghee-Tyson because the needs of our area are changing.

“It’s a growing market. People are coming to the airport,” said Marvin Mulder of American Airlines. “They’re flying, and we are here to get our market shared and serve as many people as we can.”

With this new direct flight, passengers can be in LaGuardia in less than two hours.

This new flight comes just days after Allegiant announced new non-stop flights from Knoxville to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
