Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi Airport named one of world’s top 5 airports

thailand_561In the category of serving up to 40 million to 50 million international passengers annually, Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport remained amongst world’s top five airports, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.

The world’s top four airports in the same category were South Korea’s Incheon International Airport, Germany’s Munich International Airport, Malaysia’s KL International Airport and Spain’s Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport, respectively.
Thai News Agency Director Sirote Duangrat, said that SKYTRAX, the world top airports rating agency, announced the results of the “SKYTRAX World Airport Awards 2016″, on March 16.

Sirote said that Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) was ranked 36th among the world’s top 100 airports by SKYTRAX, moving 11 places from last year’s ranking of 47th place.

He said that AOT was also ranked the world’s top 10 in the “Best Airports Staff in” Asia category.

SKYTRAX invited more than 13.25 million air passengers worldwide to vote for their favourite airports, from a total of 550 global airports, via www.worldairportsurvey.com and through its phone surveys during June 2015-early 2016. The results were then used for its ratings.
