Germany, Britain and Israel have announced that they will suspend flights to South Africa under a travel ban on their nationals due to rising infection rates in the second phase of the corona.
On December 20, Germany, Britain and Israel warned their citizens to stop flying.
South African Health Minister Jewelle MKJ told local media “Corona’s second wave is getting stronger and stronger”.
The virus can take a more deadly form if the general public is not aware.
He also expressed concern over the ban on flights to several countries, including South Africa.
Guy Leach, editor of the country’s Flyer magazine, said it was a “terrible omen for South Africa’s aviation industry and the international tourism industry.”
