In order to prevent coronavirus, all kinds of duty-tax exemptions have been given on the import of 48 types of products including hand sanitizer, mask, protective clothing.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Wednesday issued a notification in this regard.
These products do not have to pay import duty, regulatory duty, supplementary duty, value-added tax or VAT, advance VAT, and advance tax.
Importers will be able to avail of this facility till June 30.
There is no duty to import isopropyl alcohol to make hand sanitizer.
Corona’s two types of test kits and diagnostic test equipment also do not have any duty.
The list of products also includes three levels of surgical masks, protective clothing, plastic face shields, surgical clothing, special oven suits, medical protective gear, protective goggles, disinfectants.
