Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the runway expansion work to upgrade Cox’s Bazar Airport to international standards.
She inaugurated the event by virtually connecting to Cox’s Bazar Airport on Sunday morning via video conference from Ganobhaban.
The existing runway of 9,000 feet will be extended by another 1,700 feet and the length of the extended runway will be 10,700 feet.
One thousand 300 feet of runway is being built in the sea.
