ATM Nazrul Islam, Managing Director of Avian Aviation Academy said, “We have just started. One of the main objectives that inspired us to establish this academy was to institutionalise in house training.”
He said we believe that there is a good market in the aviation business-global economic impact of aviation industry is about US$2960 billion, equivalent to 8 per cent of world GDP, and it creates 29 million job opportunities directly or indirectly.
He said, “Unfortunately, we could not take any remarkable share. In fact we are losing the market. In 1988-89 we had market share 65 per cent and now only 28 per cent in international passenger movement to and from Bangladesh.”
He said, “We are looking forward to see that our aviation industry take a positive shape to hold a good share in the global aviation market. If the industry remains sick, institutes will be at risk and without institutions no industry can grow.”
He said our regulatory body should see how our industry can grow faster. It should formulate sustainable competitive advantages for the airlines and institutions, and airlines should keep trust on the institutions. This is a good cycle and this cycle should go on for the overall growth of the industry.
