Brendan Murphy, secretary of the Australian Department of Health, said Australians were unlikely to travel internationally until at least 2022.
He further warned that adequate restrictions at the border and hotel quarantine rules would remain in place this year.

At this time, citizens and permanent residents of the country will not receive any application to leave the country unless they comply with the conditions.
Some conditions have been given for this.
The conditions are – travel in the national interest, sympathetic or humanitarian work, traveling outside Australia for three months or more, applying for emergency medical treatment that is not possible in Australia, business or staff related work and any work supporting epidemic corona.
