Gold bars worth crore of Taka seized at Osmani airport
The Customs Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Sylhet has recovered 14 gold bars weighing about 2 kg (1972 gm) worth crore of Taka from Osmani International Airport.
The gold was recovered after searching the body of a passenger of Bangladesh Biman BG 248 flight from Dubai to Sylhet around 9:15 am on Friday.
He said that on the basis of secret information, they came to know that gold could be smuggled on BG 248 flight of Bangladesh Biman from Dubai to Sylhet.
On the basis of such information, they searched the plane after landing at 9:45 A.M and interrogated the passengers.
