United operating MD-83 on Dhaka- Ctg route from March 23

unitedoperatingDhaka : The United Airways (BD) Limited has introduced jet aircraft MD-83 in addition to its regular flights by ATR-72 aircraft on Dhaka-Chittagong route from March 23 for attracting more domestic passengers.
The 170-seat jet engine aircraft will shuttle between Dhaka and Chittagong once from March 23 besides the airline’s regular flights operated by the 66-seat ATR-72 aircraft. The airline charges Tk 3800 for one-way Dhaka-Chittagong trip and Tk 7000 for a round trip.
The aircraft (MD-83) depart from Dhaka for Chittagong at 7:45 am and depart, from Chittagong for Dhaka at 4:00pm everyday from March 23.
The airline, the first-ever public limited company in aviation sector of Bangladesh, is operating international flights from Dhaka to Jeddah, Dubai, Muscat, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Kathmandu and Kolkata and also from Chittagong to Kolkata.
It also operates flights to all major domestic destinations from Dhaka such as Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet, Jessore, Rajshahi and Saidpur.
Since its inception in 2007, the airline operated about 54,000 flights and carried 23 lakh passengers and 6,000 tons of cargo to various destinations.
At present the airline runs a fleet of 11 aircraft which include one Dash-8-100, three ATR-72, five MD-83s and two Airbus A310s.
