Gold worth Tk 10 crore recovered at Shahjalal Airport
Dhaka Customs House authorities have recovered a 15 kg gold bar from a passenger named Lutfar Rahman Munshi (53) returning to Dubai at Shahjalal Airport. The total market value of the recovered gold bars is around Tk 10 crore 50 lakh. The gold bar was recovered from a passenger of Emirates Airlines on Tuesday night.
According to the Dhaka Customs House authorities, the officers of the Preventive Team of the Customs House Dhaka took position at various points of the airport to prevent smuggling on the basis of secret information.
Later at 11pm, 130 gold bars were found hidden in various parts of the body of a passenger on a flight from Dubai.
According to the information obtained from the passport, Lutfar Rahman Munshi. His home is in Mymensingh district.
Arrangements have been made in the Customs Act regarding the seized gold.
