The death toll from an attack on a Yemeni airport has risen to 26
The death toll from a shooting and bombing at Yemen’s Aden airport has risen to 26. Yemen’s new government was hit by a series of bombings and shootings as soon as it set foot in the airport on Wednesday.
The prime minister of Yemen, the Saudi ambassador to the country and new ministers were there at the time. They were evacuated to the Mashek Presidential Palace shortly after the attack.
However, the incident did not end there.
Hours after they entered the palace, another explosion was heard in the area.
Moin Abdul Malik, the prime minister of Yemen’s new Saudi-backed government, called the attack “treacherous and cowardly.”
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also condemned the incident.
