For the first time since the signing of the agreement between the Arab countries at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) conference mediated by the United States, some flights of Qatar Airways have started using Saudi Arabian airspace since Thursday afternoon.
Qatar Airways said in a tweet.
According to a report in the Khaleej Times, Qatar Airways has resumed operations using some of Saudi Arabia’s airspace.
The first flight left Doha for Johannesburg at 8:45 a.m. on 7 January.
Saudi Arabia has announced that the blockade imposed on Qatar in mid-2017 has been lifted by Saudi Arabia’s allies.
The decision came after the agreement was signed at the GCC conference on Tuesday.
