Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways has announced a donation campaign within its loyalty program Etihad Guest.
In collaboration with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and Emirates Red Crescent, Etihad Guest funds will support basic infection control and containment measures for refugees and other forcibly displaced people impacted by the current pandemic.
Etihad Aviation Group chief commercial officer Robin Kamark said: “In these extraordinary times, we need to demonstrate solidarity and cooperation to support those in need. Coronavirus does not discriminate and hits the most vulnerable the hardest. Our members have always been so charitable when donating miles and we thank them in advance for continuing to be so generous with their hard-earned miles.”
Members can donate their miles which can then be used to provide ventilators, globes, masks and soap. Members who provide a donation will then receive information detailing the monetary value of their contribution and how their miles have helped those at risk.
