Pakistan International Airlines may be banned in 188 countries

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) may be banned in 16 countries this time for not complying with international rules on pilot licenses.
The Express Tribune, a Pakistan-based English language media outlet, published such a report on Sunday.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) said in a letter on November 3 that the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) had failed to meet international rules on pilot licensing and training.

The ICAO also warned the PCAA about this.

The Express Tribune reports that the ICOA may ban PIA aircraft and pilots from 16 countries for failing to comply with the rules.

A spokesman for the Pakistan Airlines Pilots Association (PALPA), a Pakistani pilot organization, said such a decision by the ICAO would bring disaster to Pakistan’s aviation industry.
