Hundreds of Bangladeshis heading to Saudi Arabia had to return from Abu Dhabi
Hundreds of Saudi-bound workers had to return home from Abu Dhabi due to a sudden shutdown.
They returned on Wednesday.
Shariful Hasan, head of BRAC’s immigration program, quoted Asad as saying.
“The sudden closure of flights will hamper the resumption of workers abroad after the Corona situation is resolved,” he said.
According to the returning Bangladeshis, the workers left Bangladesh for Saudi Arabia on December 20 on an Etihad Airways flight.
But as per the announcement of the Saudi government, the flight was canceled in that country and the workers were sent back to the country on the same plane from Abu Dhabi airport.
